Human And Migrant Rights Promoted by Lacey and Larkin

There is a belief that everyone, by virtue of being a human being, deserves to be treated one. Although new, the concept has deep roots that stem from history.

The short history of human and migrant rights is dated back to the beginning of policies that presently control humanity. The traditional documents were established with the aim of engraving the way every human should be treated to the constitution.

Many cultures adopted the notion. World War II was perhaps the catalyst of the events. Many people suffered. The inhumane of the rulers was loud for foreigners to witness. Police brutality was just a small side of the suffering. The disabled were assassinated. It took people the courage to hide their identity in order to survive the assassinations.

History Of Human And Migrant Rights

The Nazi Regime is perhaps the cruelest incidence that catapulted the origin of human as well as migrant rights. It was because of the nasty handling that many experienced that there was the introduction of rules and policies to protect the less fortunate in the society.

International criminal courts prosecuted leaders who participated in inhuman treatment. That marked the introduction of humanity and its rules. The global stage embraced humanity.

Documents reflected a clear understanding of how humans were supposed to treat their fellows. Communities converged to appreciate oneness. The United Nations brought many countries together. Through the United Nations, documents were signed to re-enforce the need for human rights and migrant rights. Countries gave life to organizations that presently fight for humanity.

Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

Lacey and Larkin are content writing photo journalists. They tell stories through the plight of the people. As the owners of a media house, they have invested in fighting for the rights of people. They were arrested for raising awareness of how people get mistreated by Sherriff Joe Arpaio. The arrest lasted 24 hours. They were released because their fans rioted over arrest.

Lacey and Larkin were compensated $3.7 million. The amount was put to charity through the Frontera Fund. Lacey and Larkin hold humanity in special regards.

Lacey and Larkin want to help the migrants in Arizona and that is part of their contribution. It is their hope that citizens will not be mishandled even if they are arrested. This is because there are laws put in place to handle criminals.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin, Leveraging the power of Humanitarian Groups to Fight Impunity

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are two individuals that have proved that the world can be a better place if we all join hands in combating impunity and oppression. From the get go, Jim and Michael have at one point in time suffered at the hands of oppressive regimes, getting arrested in the process.

Their story begins back in 2007 when Jim and Michael, two journalists and the co-founders of Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media, got to expose Sheriff Joe Arpaio for crimes committed while holding public office.

After the ordeal, Joe Arpaio was not a happy man, and so he ordered the immediate arrest of Michael and Jim. Shortly after their release, Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin vowed to teach Maricopa County a lesson that would last a lifetime.

What followed were a series of lawsuits against the county and the sheriff’s department, cases that were later won by Jim and Michael in 2013. Thanks to the ruling issued by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Michael and Jim are now $3.75 million richer.

Since 2013, Jim and Michael have had extensive involvements in philanthropy, using their newly found fortune to create the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund, an organization that has shouldered civil and human rights groups in the State of Arizona financially.

One group that has gotten to benefit from Jim and Michael’s good will is none other than the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition. Since its inception, the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition has leveraged the power of undocumented students, to try and respond positively to a 2006 law that has compelled undocumented students to pay exorbitant tuition rates for more than a decade.

Also, the group has been very vocal particularly on matters centering on scholarships, since the 2006 law has also made a lot of undocumented students lose out on their dreams.

Ever since the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition got created, some of the pioneers of the organization have been able to pursue their dreams, thanks to their bravery that helped highlight many atrocities committed by educational bodies in the State of Arizona.

The Arizona DREAM Act Coalition has since evolved to represent undocumented students in a court of law legally.

Some of the issues highlighted by the group include education rights, human rights, immigrant rights, and lower tuition rates. Because the most affected by discrimination are immigrants and the poor, the Arizona DREAM Act Coalition has become the voice for the voiceless. However, without the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund, the group could still be in the shadows.

Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey have sacrificed a lot to see to it that minority groups in the State of Arizona are well represented. Because of their devotion, the world is now a better place.

Through the Frontera Fund, Jim and Michael can finance human and civil rights organizations to legally fight for the rights of people who have been a constant target of social profiling and racial discrimination.

Thor Halvorssen Not Afraid to Get Hands Dirty for Human Rights

Thor Halvorssen is not afraid to take the heat so long as it serves a human rights purpose. The 40-year-old Venezuelan of Norwegian descent speaks perfect American English. He attended the Pennsylvania University in the United States, and he founded the Human Rights Foundation in New York City. Despite the fact that the human rights activist comes from wealth, he’s not afraid to jump into the fight.

Take his film The Sugar Babies, for example. The film that he produced focus on human trafficking within the Dominican Republic. The film specifically explored big business’s role in human trafficking when it comes to the sugar trade. The film aggressively went after one particular family living in West Palm Beach.

The film debuted at Florida International University to much scrutiny. People who attended to see the film had a dangerous exchange with a Dominican political envoy. The police were called in to calm down the unruly crowd. It seems that Thor Halvorssen touched on a hotspot within the sugar trade business.

Many people on the right have criticized the film for being too harsh on big business. Thor Halvorssen stands by his film and invites the hatred of big businesses involved with human trafficking. The man is really not afraid to stick his neck out.

He is so defiant in the face of human rights violations that he is not afraid to be on the hit list of unilateral dictators around the world. One of the most famous unilateral dictators on planet Earth, Kim Jong Un, really hates Thor Halvorssen. Thor Halvorssen took his Human Rights Foundation to the southern order of the demilitarized zone separating the Korean nations. He helped locals float balloons into North Korea that had all sorts of educational materials attached to them. The goal was to educate the lucky people who found these balloons. By exposing the leader of North Korea to be the ruthless dictator that he is, Thor Halvorssen hopes to inspire a revolution inside the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea. It is actions like these that put him in the crosshairs of very dangerous world leaders and click here more information.
