Dr. Cameron Clokie’s Pioneering Regenerative Medicine

Cameron Clokie, M.D. is a serial entrepreneur, surgeon and scientist. His medical specialty is regenerative medicine and bone reconstruction. Dr. Clokie is the holder of over 25 national and international patents related to bone healing. As a result, he has developed many strategic alliances and transfer his expertise into commercial enterprises.

Dr. Clokie was named the Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1998 and taught classes on the subjects until his academic retirement in 2017. He is also the CEO of Induce Biologics Inc., which is devoted to developing new solutions to musculoskeletal reconstruction.

Cameron Clokie reveals that one technique that was pioneered by Cameron Clokie was that of using adult stem cells to reset the jaw’s skeletal clock in order to coax the bones to re-grow after injury or after having to have the original surgically removed due to a tumor, etc.

Before Cameron Clokie’s stem cell innovation, those patients used to have to rely on painful cosmetic surgery which involved removing and replacing bone, fat and muscle from other parts of the body to re-fill the removal gap. Dr. Clokie presented on this at the U and T Conference for regenerative medicine in 2005 involving two patients receiving two different surgeries for their jaw replacements.

The first was aspiring singer, Janine McFarlane and another patient identified only as Mr. Russel. In both cases, a benign tumor swelled from the right side of their jaws. If left untreated, the tumor just continues to grow until it kills by choking. Learn more about Cameron Clokie: https://www.yellowpages.ca/bus/Ontario/Toronto/Dr-Cameron-Clokie/390278.html

McFarlane underwent a 19-hour surgery involving 12 centimeters of her shin tissue replacing her jaw tissue because her medical issue involved a joint. She reported that she could not walk for two months afterward.

Russel, on the contrary, underwent a four-hour surgery with a growth protein and a putty-like gel with barely a small scar left on his jaw. He reported that his only side effects were numbness in the chin and lower lip.

As Cameron Clokie says, regenerative medicine is currently in its infancy. However, the field has shown more hope in musculoskeletal regrowth than any other previous procedure.
