Doe Deere didn’t start out with a massive business when she decided to create Lime Crime. Instead, she started off with a single Ebay account under the name Limecrime. Her sales on Ebay were so strong she was finally able to create her official makeup line in 2008. The make up line proved successful as Deere had already created a strong online following thanks to her makeup tutorials and understanding of Millennial culture.
The Rise Of A New Brand
Lime Crime quickly grew into a million dollar success thanks to the mass appeal of the brand’s variety and her brightful style. People fell in love with the unique aesthetic that Lime Crime gave them and Doe Deere was headed towards an international success. Even better, she didn’t allow the success to corrupt her sense of morals or make her forget about giving back to the community. Doe Deere is a staunch believer in animal rights and this support is evident in her philanthropy in favor of animal rights. Lime Crime is an explicitly vegan line of cosmetic products.
Helping Others Achieve That Success
As successful female entrepreneur Doe Deere wants to make sure that other women who are considering starting their own business are prepared for the challenges ahead. She regularly speaks at events in which she explains to young female entrepreneurs exactly what is ahead for them when they choose to take on the responsibilities innate in this field. When Doe Deere decided she wanted to create her own business she had plenty of detractors who told her the idea simply wasn’t possible. Despite those naysayers she managed to build an empire and it doesn’t seem as if there are any signs of it stopping.
Doe Deere Today
Today, Doe Deere continues to expand the Lime Crime brand with new products and further expansion of her market reach. Lime Crime’s aesthetic has also expanded from what it originally was. At one point her brand was exclusively devoted to a cutesy and bright look, but now it includes everything from metallic to darker colors. Her creativity doesn’t seem to end at any point and the fans are loving it. Most businesses aren’t around after a few years, but Lime Crime has amazing staying power. There is something fans like about Doe Deere and her makeup line.
In a field such as journalism, where the truth is constantly manipulated for personal and ulterior motives, upholding ethical values that make journalism a harbinger of facts and information to the mass public is a tough task than many might think. Helane Morrison is one such person who has not only proved herself in her profession but also set examples for newcomers and other professionals.
After completing her education from the University of California at Berkeley, she started her career as law clerk for Chief Justice Harry A. Blackmun. Having a J.D in Law from one of the most prestigious schools of America, and owing to her dedication to achieving professional recognition, allowed her to excel in private practice. She went on to join San Francisco Office of the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission. Later, she became part of a San Francisco law firm between the years of 1986 to 1996. Before that, she also served as a law clerk for Hon. Richard A. Posner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 1984.
Although, Helane Morrison had a lot of experience under her belt since entering the practical field, joining the San Francisco Office of the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) can be considered a major breakthrough in her career. Appointed in 1999 as Regional Director, she has the opportunity to preside over an office of 100 personnel and managing litigation, security enforcement and legal matters in Northern California and five other Northwest states. During her tenure in 1996, before she became a regional director, Helane Morrison held the position of Assistant District Administrator at SEC and led the enforcement office at San Francisco. It is worth mentioning that she was the first woman to be appointed as the Regional Director at SEC. These achievements, in my view, are inspiring for those who look up to people who break stereotypes in the society.
After working for eight years at SEC and making history for herself, Helane Morrison joined Hall Capital Partners LLC as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in 2008. To this day, she is serving the organization with her exceptional professional experience. While fulfilling her role at Hall Capital, she has made noteworthy progress in corporate compliance. Due to her unparalleled contributions, she was named to the list of Women on Move in BizJournal. Her ambition to help transparency and law rule in the field of journalism, where facts are tampered with all the time, is indeed inspiring. We, as professionals and human beings, can learn a lot from her personal and professional achievements.
